Denmark PM warns world order as we know it is over

Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen on Wednesday issued a defiant message on the Arctic island’s future, whereas Denmark warned the world order as we all know it’s now over.

Showing collectively at a discussion board within the French capital as they search to shore up help from European allies, the political leaders sought to painting a united entrance amid U.S. President Donald Trump’s Greenland threats.

“The world order as we all know it that we now have been preventing for 80 years is over and I do not assume it should return,” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated at Science Po College in Paris, in response to Reuters.

“The easiest way ahead for the U.S, Europe is to stay collectively … We’ll attempt to discover a manner ahead with U.S. We share issues on Arctic safety. Russia doesn’t need peace with Europe,” she added.

Greenland’s Nielsen, in the meantime, stated the self-governing Danish territory agrees that there’s a want for extra surveillance and safety within the Arctic “due to the best way Russia acts now.” He added that Greenland wouldn’t give in to international strain.

“What we’re coping with as a authorities is making an attempt to push again from exterior and deal with our people who find themselves afraid and scared,” Nielsen stated.

The feedback come shortly after Nielsen and Frederiksen held talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin on Tuesday.

Trump, who has lengthy advocated for management of Greenland, stated in a shock improvement final week that he had secured a framework of a future cope with respect to Greenland. The U.S. president didn’t give additional particulars on the time, though he stated talks would proceed to succeed in an settlement.
