Reshona Landfair met R. Kelly when she was a pre-teen in 1996. Starstruck, together with the remainder of her group, Landfair says she fell sufferer to his grooming techniques, adopted by years of sexual, bodily and emotional abuse. When requested how she felt after the tape surfaced publicly, Landfair informed All Issues Thought of host Juana Summers, “It was every part that I hear about jail.”
“It was very traumatizing. It was very hurtful and lonely,” Landfair added.
The video was proven to the juries in two of Kelly’s trials on youngster pornography costs: first, in 2008, which led to his acquittal, and once more in 2022, which resulted in Kelly’s conviction.
Landfair’s new memoir, Who’s Watching Shorty? Reclaiming Myself from the Disgrace of R. Kelly’s Abuse, particulars her turbulent adolescence and escape from a protracted cycle of exploitation, as she seeks to be a voice for different survivors.
